Gold plating or stainless steel?
The material decides how long a piece lasts. Stainless steel is the smartest everyday choice – water-resistant, won't rust, won't darken your skin, and suits sensitive skin. Gold plating is pretty and luxurious but wears off over time; keep it dry and take it off in the shower. If you have a metal allergy, look specifically for 'hypoallergenic' or 'nickel free'.
The layering trend
The strongest trend is layering – combining 2-3 necklaces at different lengths, or stacking thin rings. For earrings, sets of several small pairs for multiple piercings. Leading colors: warm gold, silver and mixed tones. Buying tip: good jewelry photographs with a smooth finish and no blemishes; read reviews with real photos to make sure the color isn't cheap or too orange.
