💸 AliExpress Refunds & Disputes

The deadline that decides everything, and the evidence that actually wins
🛡️ How Buyer Protection works

Every order carries a Buyer Protection period, shown on the order itself. Within it you can open a dispute and AliExpress holds the money until the case is settled. This deadline is the single most important thing on this page. Once it lapses the money has been released to the seller and your options shrink dramatically.

Cases are decided on what you can show, not on how strongly you argue.

❓ FAQ
How long do I have to open a dispute on AliExpress?
Until the Buyer Protection period shown on that specific order expires. It varies by seller and shipping method, so check the order itself rather than assuming a standard length.
Can I get a refund without returning the item?
Yes. When opening a dispute you can request 'refund only', which is common for cheap, faulty or wrongly described goods where return postage would cost more than the item.
What if the seller refuses to refund me?
Escalate the dispute so AliExpress reviews it. Upload your photos, video and tracking screenshots - the case is decided on evidence.
How long does an AliExpress refund take to arrive?
Once approved it goes back to the original payment method, and card refunds usually appear within a few working days.
Do I have to pay to return an item to China?
Usually yes, unless the seller agrees to cover it, which is why 'refund only' is often the better request on low-value orders.
